Join Alliance Française de Gainesville on Zoom this Sunday, June 13th. Our guest speaker will be AFG member Dr. Sarah Cervone from Santa Fe College, Humanities and Foreign Languages Department. Her topic s Florida Heritage Foods Initiative: Connecting Local Food and Local Culture in Florida Farmers Markets. She is inviting our collaboration on this exciting USDA grant! Let’s brainstorm with Sarah about ways to raise awareness locally about the traditional French vegetable-flower garden or “potager” (po-tah-jay). By the way, “le potage” (po-tahj) is a word traditionally used for soup cooked with plants and herbs grown in one’s own backyard. After Sarah’s presentation, let’s discuss French herbs that can be grown in Florida! How about a French recipe that uses them? Let’s get involved with the culture of healthful French eating!
