Zahia Lakrim is a retired English teacher. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Mohammed V in Rabat, Morocco and since 1978, has taught English to some 3000 high school students.

She is an avid traveler and enjoys new experiences and cultures. She visited Gainesville for the first time in 2013 and was happy to make friends immediately!

In 2020, Zahia decided to make Gainesville her new home. Although she couldn’t meet her friends in person due to the pandemic, she is still enjoying the many Zoom sessions with lovely friends. She is excited to share Morocco with her friends and give them a glimpse of this majestic country with 12 centuries of history.
